NAORRR’s

39th Annual Convention

is finally here!

Despite the disappointment of not being able to be together in person in Boca Raton, the NAORRR Program Committee has put together a very exciting and meaningful array of online programs you won’t want to miss. From stimulating learning opportunities with nationally acclaimed scholars, to a spiritually uplifting Shabbat service, to timely presentations on current developments in the North American rabbinate and in Israel, to the joyous recognition of the service of our 50-year colleagues and the 50 years of women in the rabbinate, we’ve got it all.

There will be eight events in all, and each will require a separate registration. Please make careful note of what you sign up for. You will receive a separate Zoom link for each program. Keep all your links in a safe place; we may not be able to help you if you can’t find them at the last minute! Also, please remember that you must be a member of NAORRR to access these programs.

We have tried to estimate the time each program will last, but please understand that these are not exact times. Also, some programs will be presented with attendees on screen so you can get a feeling of community while others may be presented with just the speakers in view, but you will be able to ask questions in the Q&A feature.

For information about our scholars and their topics, go here.

So check out all our programs in the schedule below; we look forward to seeing you!!

NAORRR to Elect a new President

As is our custom, we will elect new Officers and Board members during our Plenary session. We will thank Shelly Harr for his service during a very difficult period and we will install Bob Orkand as the incoming President.

Shelly Harr has been President during a most unusual and difficult time for NAORRR. Prior to becoming President, Shelly was 1st Vice President when the Pandemic struck and quickly realized NAORRR needed to pivot from a one-event-per-year organization to a year-round presence, and brought about NAORRR Re-Imagined. Shelly programmed our very successful series of Webinars. He regrets, as we all do, that he entered the Presidency and is leaving it without the benefit of an in-person Convention.

Bob Orkand has been the 1st Vice President this past year and has continued the plan to have year-round programs. He has “upped” NAORRR’s game in securing top-notch presenters at our Webinars that have steadily drawn enthusiastic audiences. He is looking forward to leading NAORRR through the awaiting challenges of changing times.
